ACVS Resident Education Travel Grant Program 

ACVS is pleased to announce the 2025 ACVS Resident Education Travel Grant program to attend the ACVS Surgery Summit in Seattle, WA, October 23–25.

NEW! In 2025, the grant application will be open to residents currently training at all ACVS-registered veterinary surgery residency training programs (surgery residents). Five surgery residents will be selected.

The 2025 ACVS Resident Education Travel Grants are offered in partnership with the Diversify Veterinary Medicine Coalition (DVMC). Funding is provided by the ACVS Foundation to increase resident access to continuing education opportunities.

Program Details 

Grant Benefits

Five surgery residents will receive complimentary registration to the 2025 ACVS Surgery Summit, airfare (economy coach ticket), and hotel accommodations. Rideshare costs to and from the airport will be eligible for reimbursement upon submission of receipts after the Summit. Receipts for meals during travel and meals not already provided by ACVS as part of the Summit may also be submitted for reimbursement within the College's reimbursement limits.

Eligibility

The grant is open to surgery residents currently training at all ACVS-registered residency programs. Residents from the BIPOC, LGTBQIA+ communities, and other historically underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Application Requirements

Residents must submit a personal statement addressing the essay prompt and provide a letter of support from an ACVS mentor or supervisor. There is no application fee.

Application Period

Applications were accepted via the DVMC website from May 1 to June 1, 2025. The application is now closed.

Outcome Notification

All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by June 19.
