Dimple Hill Software LLC has developed VetDAR, released initially in 2011. VetDAR was the first and is the most comprehensive veterinary anesthesia information management software product available. Use of VetDAR provides decision support to the user and increases anesthetized patient safety by calculating drug doses for the patient after its species and bodyweight are entered, by prompting the user to enter vital signs data at prescribed intervals, and by alerting the user with alarms when vital signs data is outside the normal range. VetDAR creates a traditional looking anesthetic record for the patient that once finalized cannot be altered. VetDAR allows remote access of the record during anesthesia allowing an outside veterinary anesthesiologist to provide additional guidance during anesthesia. VetDAR has a very robust data review feature allowing retrospective studies to be performed. Data review also allows the user to perform practice management tasks.
