Animal care has been among our Native American/Indigenous people since time immemorial. This presentation reviews frameworks that are valuable in working with Native American/Indigenous communities in a way that honors Tribal sovereignty and supports animal health. Relevant research on community partnership models is reviewed alongside studies on animal welfare within these communities.
