Orthobiologics is a term within the field of regenerative medicine used to refer to the use of biologically derived products to help musculoskeletal injuries heal; include an array of therapies; and may be delivered by injection or graft. Some of the more commonly used types include: platelet rich plasma (PRP), autologous conditioned plasma (ACP), autologous conditioned serum (ACS), mesenchymal stem cells (MSC), and bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC).
*This seminar will explore the most common product applications for PRP and stem cell therapy in dogs with a focus on clinical efficacy and potential adverse events. We will examine differences amongst various preparations and considerations for dosing, including combined or staged therapies.
