This lecture will discuss the surgical options when managing overriding and impingement of the dorsal spinous processes, aka Kissing Spines. We will discuss procedures such as partial ostectomy, segmental wedge ostectomy (cranial and caudal), and interspinous ligament desmotomy. The lecture will cover step by step description of how to perform segmental wedge ostectomy and interspinous desmotomy, including tips and tricks to increase the chances of a successful outcome. The lecture will also discuss the long-term prognosis of each procedure.
