Articular fractures can result in significant pain and discomfort in veterinary patients. Treatment is accomplished through complete anatomic reconstruction of the joint surface with rigid fixation. However, persistent pain and discomfort can occur if the repair is not adequate or if implant failure occurs. Minimally invasive techniques, such as fluoroscopy and arthroscopy, may be used to help optimize reduction and allow fixation of the fracture while preserving local soft tissues and blood supply.
