Small Animal Fellowship: Minimally Invasive Orthopedic Surgery

This seminar includes short lectures on minimal-invasive joint and fracture techniques. Arthroscopic and fluoroscopic techniques are presented to treat hip and knee problems. The speakers are fellows or fellows-in-training of the ACVS Minimally Invasive Surgery (Small Animal Orthopedics) Fellowship.

Learning Objectives:

  • Upon completion, the participant will understand how arthroscopy provide valuable information that will affect surgical decision-making and outcome when. treating dogs with CCL tears and juvenile hip dysplasia.
  • Upon completion, the participant will understand how fluoroscopy can be used to repair capital physeal fractures in a minimally-invasive and precise manner.
  • Upon completion, the participant will understand how minimally-invasive orthopedic surgery can lead to lower morbidity, early postoperative recovery and enhanced outcomes.
