Participants perform an open dorsal approach to the distal interphalangeal joint, debride the articular cartilage, and prepare the dorsal surface of the middle phalanx and the dorsal proximal surface of the distal phalanx for application of a custom arthrodesis plate. Under radiographic guidance the plate is applied along with transarticular screws in lag fashion. The custom designed plate is applied through a single skin incision without penetration of the hoof wall.
This hybrid laboratory includes one hour of virtual lectures to be viewed in advance of the on-site laboratory.
