This laboratory is focused on performing canine stifle needle arthroscopy and surgical arthroscopy with associated distal femoral osteotomy (DFO), combined proximal tibial plateau levelling with off-set tibial crest transposition medial patellar osteotomy (combination TPLO-MPL), and tibial deformity de-rotational and angulation correction with all three procedures utilizing the recently introduced OrthoLine™ osteotomy implants.
Participants receive a combination of short, cutting-edge procedure technique lectures on the lab procedures and two wet lab sessions spread over an eight-hour period. Lectures cover stifle needle and surgical arthroscopy instrumentation, technique, maximizing intraarticular visualization, pathology identification, documentation, manipulation, and debridement of intraarticular pathology, meniscal pathology resection and repair indications, instrumentation, and technique. DFO ,TPLOMPL, and Tibial Torsion and Angulation correction technique lectures will cover the instrumentation, implants, and surgical techniques for these procedures. Participants will be able to perform multiple arthroscopic procedures and osteotomy implantations during the wet lab sessions as both primary and assistant surgeons.
