Dr. Franklin completed his DVM at Colorado State University and his surgical residency and PhD at the University of Missouri. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is the owner/operator of Kansas City Canine Orthopedics. His research is focused on the assessment of biological therapies for treating osteoarthritis and cartilage defects in dogs. Additional areas of clinical interest and research investigation include noninvasive imaging of the musculoskeletal system (MRI, ultrasonography, needle arthroscopy), a focus on arthroscopy and minimally invasive surgical techniques, and total joint replacement.
