Engelmeyer completed her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Iowa State University in 2009. In 2010 she completed her Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology and became a licensed veterinary technician. She completed an ECC internship at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center. After two years in general medicine, Engelmeyer returned to ECC as an ICU technician with BluePearl Pet Hospital. In 2014 she transferred to the specialty surgery department within BluePearl Pet Hospital and became a VTS (Surgery) in 2019. In 2020, Sandra became the ACCESS Bone & Joint Center department lead in Culver City, CA until 2023. She currently resides in Colorado and is working at Spry Companions, a dedicated orthopedic surgical practice, as the primary scrub technician for Dr. von Pfeil. Engelmeyer serves on the board for the Academy of Veterinary Surgical Technicians, is a faculty instructor with Arthrex and AOVet, and presents at conferences.
