Dr. Malek is an associate professor in small animal orthopedic surgery at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. She earned a PhD from and completed her small animal surgery residency at the Atlantic Veterinary College, UPEI, Canada. Her main areas of interest in research are osteoarthritis in small animals and related translational research with a focus on FTIR spectroscopy as a disease pattern recognition tool in musculoskeletal diseases.
