Associate Professor in Equine Surgery

Dr. Labens is a graduate of the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna who underwent further academic and clinical specialty training at the University of Liege, the University of Glasgow, and at North Carolina State University. He has held various academic appointments in the US and UK and since 2016 is at Charles Sturt University as an Associate Professor in Equine Surgery. He is an Associate Editor for Veterinary Surgery and further affiliations include REC Equine Specialists for clinical and Qbiotics Group Ltd for research consultancy work. He is a registered specialist in Equine Surgery, boarded by the American and European Colleges of Veterinary Surgeons and the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation.
