Assistant Professor in Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery
Michigan State University
East Lansing, Michigan
Dr. Gallaher received her DVM from the University of Wiscosin. After an abrupt about-face in career goals, she completed a rotating internship in private practice at Pieper Memorial in Connecticut, followed by a surgery internship in Kansas City, and a fellowship in companion animal surgery at Louisana State University. She completed her residency at Mississippi State University, and was recruited to serve as an Assistant Professor (soft tissue and orthopedic). After 3 years, she transitioned back to the midwest to help re-establish the soft tissue surgery section at Michigan State University.
Dr. Gallaher's interests are many, but include teaching students, interns, and residents, and investigating clinical problems with clinical-based research. Her work guilty pleasure is her annual MSU study abroad trip to Mexico where she gets to teach surgery, work with underserved populations, and use her Spanish language skills.
