Dr. Kamm grew up on a farm in Ohio. She went to veterinary school at Colorado State University and completed an internship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital. Dr. Kamm completed post-graduate work at Cornell University in the lab of Dr Alan Nixon. Then she returned to Colorado State to complete a residency in equine surgery with research guided by Laurie Goodrich and David Frisbie. Dr. Kamm spent ten years in Auckland, New Zealand working as an equine surgeon in private practice and became an owner/director of the 13-veterinarian equine practice. During her time there, she also served as a founder and director of a commercial mesenchymal stromal cell laboratory. She completed a PhD at Massey University researching immune response to allogeneic mesenchymal stromal cells under the guidance of Wayne McIlwraith and Chris Riley. In 2022, Dr. Kamm took an assistant professor position in large animal surgery at Oregon State University. Dr. Kamm is supported by an amazing husband and two unstoppable children.
