Dr. Palm graduated from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and then completed a rotating internship followed by residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine. She is board certified in Small Animal Internal Medicine. She practiced as a small animal internist for one year in a specialty practice and then returned to UC Davis to complete a 2-year fellowship in Extracorporeal and Urinary Medicine, including advanced training in nephrology, hemodialysis/apherersis and interventional endourology. Since 2011 she has been a faculty member at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and is currently a Professor of Clinical Small Animal Internal Medicine. She is interested in all aspects of renal and urinary medicine, but her main focuses are interventional endourology, acute kidney injury and extracorporeal therapies (including hemodialysis and apheresis). Dr. Palm supports house officers and students in all aspects for Small Animal Internal medicine, but her primary practice has focused on urinary medicine (urology and nephrology) and extracorporeal medicine since 2009. In 2020, Dr. Palm completed a 2-year master’s program in clinical translational research at the UC Davis School of Medicine. She is also a founding member of the American College of Veterinary Nephrology and Urology (ACVNU).
