Dr. Thomson is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and ACVS Fellow of Surgical Oncology. Dr. Thomson earned his veterinary doctorate from the University of Minnesota, internship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Minnesota for a residency in small animal surgery, and completed a fellowship in surgical oncology at Colorado State University. Dr. Thomson has been on the executive board for the Veterinary Endoscopy Society and is an active member of the Veterinary Society for Surgical Oncology and the Veterinary Interventional Radiology and Interventional Endoscopy Society. His current clinical research is focused on minimally invasive surgery for metastasis and lung tumors, osteosarcoma, and interventional oncology (chemoembolizations, radiofrequency, microwave, and cryo- ablation).
