Faculté de médecine vétérinaire, Université de Montréal
Rimouski, Quebec, Canada
Dr. Lardé graduated from the National Veterinary School of Alfort, France, in 2009. She then completed an internship and residency in large animal medicine and surgery at the Université de Montréal. In 2017, Dr. Lardé became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (Large Animal).
Her career path is unique, with a master's degree in clinical sciences (focused on arthroscopy in cattle) and a PhD in epidemiology (focused on antimicrobial usage in dairies), both from the Université de Montréal. She worked as a teaching assistant and clinician at the St. Hyacinthe Farm Animal Teaching Hospital (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Université de Montréal) until 2021. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Lardé moved to St. Kitts, where she became an Assistant Professor, later an Associate Professor of Large Animal Surgery, and served as the Head of the Large Animal Division at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Since 2024, Dr. Lardé has returned to Canada as an Assistant Professor of Anatomy at the new decentralized campus of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (Université de Montréal) in Rimouski, Québec. She teaches large animal anatomy and principles of surgery to veterinary students. Her research interests are broad, focusing on ruminant health and welfare, as well as understanding the development and spread of antimicrobial resistance on farms, from a One Health perspective.
