Dr. Jackie Willette grew up in Michigan and graduated with her veterinary degree from Michigan State University in 2018. She then completed two large animal rotating internships at the University of Pennsylvania's, New Bolton Center and subsequently at Louisiana State University. Following her internships, she returned to Michigan State University and completed a large animal surgical residency from 2020-2023. She became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2024 and currently is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Iowa State University since 2023. Her research interests are aimed at adhesion prevention and mitigating post-operative complications and her clinical interests are large animal soft tissue surgery as well as emergency and critical care. She is currently completeing a fellowship in large animal emergency and critical care.
