Born and raised in Germany with an intense equestrian background, he attended Veterinary School at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitaet in Munich, Germany. A doctorate degree in translational research followed at the TU Munich - completed in June 2006 and published in Journal Oral Maxillofacial Research.
Following an Internship in California, the Residency at LSU followed completed in 2010 and board certification in 2011.
After a 2 year stint in New Zealand came 4 years in high-volume private practice settings in Germany before returning to the US in 2016; following a call by Purdue to establish a Satellite facility near the racetrack.
During this time, Veterinary Surgical Consultants LLC was established to serve as consultant service in different States and overseas.
In 2024, consultant services and a dual-certification credentialing process through the ACVS (small animal) followed. Research interests (beyond osteointegration research during the Doctorate and Masters degree) were based on clinical questions and how to improve procedural pathways, simplify procedure and reporting on alternate techniques and outcome. This led to case reports in German and English and contributions to ECVS (2013, 2015, 2016, 2022), VOS (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022) as primary or senior author aside of State Veterinary Meetings and CE events nationally and internationally.
