Josette studied veterinary medicine at Murdoch University (Perth, Western Australia), graduating with BSc/DVM with Distinction in 2018. In 2019 she undertook a rotating equine internship at West Coast Veterinary Hospital in Perth then remained at the practice as an associate equine vet for a further 3 years in an ambulatory and anaesthesia role. During this time she sat and passed Membership exams with the Australian New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Surgery of Horses and received the Scone Equine Group prize for the highest mark in equine chapter examinations in 2022. In 2023 she relocated to New South Wales for a surgical residency run in collaboration between Charles Sturt University and REC Equine Specialists. She is interested in gaining experience and exposure to all aspects of equine surgery but particularly enjoys emergency and ophthalmic cases and colic surgery.
