This lecture will provide updates on intra-articular therapies used to manage osteoarthritis-associated pain in dogs. Examples of such therapeutics include, but are not limited to, hyaluronan and corticosteroids, platelet-rich plasma, autologous protein solution, interleukin receptor antagonist protein, bone marrow aspirate and concentrate, stromal vascular fracture, cultured stem cells, microfragmented adipose, amnion based products, polyacrylamide, and others. These treatments are often options as part of a nonsurgical management protocol for endstage osteoarthritis and as an alternative to surgical treatment options such as joint replacement or fusion.
