This lecture focuses on technical, anatomical, developmental, medical and functional aspects related to oral and maxillofacial oncological surgery in small animals. Some of the topics discussed will be the use of piezoelectric bone cutting equipment compared to other tools, the implications of sectioning teeth during osteotomy, and clarification of oftentimes misused surgical, pathological and anatomical terminology in the context of oral and maxillofacial oncological surgery.
