Open to ACVS and ECVS Diplomates and residents
This laboratory provides a combination of didactic instruction via pre-recorded content and a review session with discussion in the morning followed by hands-on laboratory training in small animal laparoscopic techniques. Material covered includes a brief introduction to equipment, discussion of indications and contraindications for specific minimally invasive procedures, and instruction regarding abdominal procedures (intracorporeal gastropexy, herniorrhaphy, cholecystectomy, adrenalectomy, nephrectomy).
This hybrid laboratory includes four hours of virtual lectures to be viewed in advance of the hands-on laboratory. The hands-on portion will be held at a separate laboratory facility in Seattle, and additional information will be emailed to participants prior to the Summit.
