Dr. Mund graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013 and then completed a surgical internship at Brandon Equine Medical Center at Brandon, Florida. Following the internship, she began a dual residency in Large Animal Surgery and master of science at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine under the supervision of Dr. Spencer Barber. Drs Mund's and Barber's research focused on the effects of limb and thoracic wound healing in horses following administration of allogenic mesenchymal stromal cells intravenously. Dr. Mund earned boarded status in 2022, and is employed at Saskatchewan Polytechnic as Program Head for the Veterinary Technology program, and is considered the large animal curriculum expert, and has modified the program to emphasize large animal and rural medicine exposure to veterinary technology students. Dr. Mund sits on several professional organizations including the Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion committee for ACVS, is a member of the board for the Saskatchewan Veterinary Medical Association, and sits on the University Animal Care Committee for the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Mund's current research focus is providing access to mental health care for veterinarians in rural and remote regions of Western Canada. Outside of her regular professional commitments, Dr. Mund enjoys working as a surgery locum all over North America, spending time skiing and biking with her family, quilting, gardening, and training for half marathons.
