Dr. Moorman is a 2004 graduate of NC State University, completed a large animal rotating internship at Auburn University where she stayed on for an additional year as an instructor for the equine ambulatory service. She then completed an equine surgery residency at Oklahoma State University, became a diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in Large Animal Surgery in 2010 and then completed a PhD in equine gait analysis at Colorado State University in 2013. She stayed on as faculty Colorado State University in equine surgery and lameness until she took a faculty position in Large Animal Surgery at University of Georgia in the fall of 2019, where she is currently a Clinical Professor. She became certified in Animal Chiropractic in 2021 and is a member of the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association. She completed an alternative track residency in Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation and in February 2025, she became a Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. Her clinical and research interests include early identification of musculoskeletal injury and improving the ability of horses to return to athletic function following injury.
