Dr. Jurek earned her DVM from the University of Minnesota in 2017. She completed her Equine/Large Animal Surgery residency at Oklahoma State University (2019-2022), in addition to earning a master’s degree in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences (awarded 2022). She earned ACVS-LA diplomate status in early 2023. Following completion of her residency, Kelsey spent additional time at Oklahoma State as the Large Animal Emergency Clinician prior to joining the team at Oregon State University as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Large Animal Emergency in 2023. She shares equal interest in equine and farm animal emergency medicine and surgery, including obstetric emergencies. Her research interests include clinical use of IV regional limb perfusion, alternative analgesic modalities, emergency abdominal surgery, and bovine sports medicine.
